Yup, you read that right. It's finally time to go racing. Funny thing though....
So we had planned to have this car done a lot sooner, but some small issues kept popping up and we just didn't want to rush. Okay, I didn't want to rush. It's been an odd season and I just saw no reason to rush to get to the track when there's no fans there anyways. So we took our time and made sure we got it right.
Then there was the part about the schedule. By the time we finally got the car ready to race there was only two races at South Sound Speedway left on the calendar. One of them being Labor Day Weekend, the last being September 19th. Labor Day weekend is typically our family's camping weekend. We all kind of retreat to the property out at the beach and we don't "racecar" that weekend. So going racing on that date is out, which leaves the final race of the season, September 19th.
"Then a funny thing happened....." I found out via Facebook that the VMRA race at Evergreen Speedway on August 29th is open to all Vintage modified cars. After a quick chat with the gang we decided we should join that race. Ashley will be racing her Youth Hornet that day anyways, so the team is headed there anyways, so why not just take both cars?
So, new plan! Gizmo will be making a debut at Evergreen Speedway on August 29th for the VMRA race, and then we will head to South Sound Speedway for the final race on September 19th. A huge thank you to my team for all the hard work getting the car ready. It's been a long build, but we're done! Also a quick thank you to all of my marketing partners -
See you all at the track!
