Man, seems like it's been a while! But, it is race week once again!
So, after our disastrous opening night that ended with a blown engine, we regrouped and went to work on the car. My guys managed to get the blown engine pulled out during the week after that race while I was at work, and we went to work that weekend to get a replacement engine in the car and ready to run the following week. You can read about that in my blog post titled "Never Give Up". After all of the team's efforts, we were met with rain on race day. Which brings us to today!
It will be a full five weeks since the first race by the time we arrive at the track this weekend. The guys worked so hard to completely flip this car in just one week, only to be met with the reality that we could have taken four weeks to do what they did in about five days. But, we all know that had they not worked that hard, it would not have rained that last race. 😒
I'm disappointed in the lost opportunity to score points, especially now that I'm so far behind in the standings. The other thing weighing on me right now is the fact that the long range weather forecast is showing rain this weekend, again. We have a fairly common joke here in the Pacific northwest that goes like this:
"What comes after two days of rain?" Monday! 🙄
Seriously, though, it's not a joke. 😒
If it rains out this weekend I may go insane! We'll be keeping an eye on the weather and hoping for clear skies. I'd like a chance to see if we can get this car under control and maybe prove that we're not idiots. I need to get this season back on track.
